Sermon: Violent Faith for Divine Visitation Text: Luke 7:11-15; 1 Chronicles 4:9-10

Minister: Rev. Dr. Sola Akinkuolie

A violent faith forces through all barriers and obstacles and obtains what is deserved and bequeathed. It produces strong reasons, bringing forth demanded answers (Isaiah 41:21). The Lord speaking through Isaiah exhorts that we produce our strong reasons in line with His declared promises. Jabez possessed such violent faith in redirecting the trajectory and course of his life to be in conformity with God’s will. He was named according to a negative circumstance. He had to demand that which had been promised and the scripture declares in Verse 10, “..and God granted which he has requested”. A man who depends solely and trusts only in his capabilities and achievements has set the course of his life to living beneath God’s perfect plan. In plugging into His power at work in us; which is His spirit, we achieve much more and live up to His expectation (Ephesians 3:20). Not acknowledging the awesomeness of the one resident in you is figurative of tying the hands of God. God through His spirit in you causes an expression of His power (1 John 4:4). However, when at any time you act in fear and doubt of His manifold presence; you limit His divine expression. God is never limited. However, our standpoint of doubt and fear causes and obstruction not to God but against us. Righteousness and obedience is a platform for the performance of the promises of God. Upon the altar of obedience does the blessing spring forth. Righteousness attracts all goodness. Divine visitation is real; it is a consequence of righteous living. God spoke of Job’s righteousness, boastfully to the enemy. God’s focus was not the material possessions of Job. The priority and point of reference was his upright living. This is what attracts the most coveted worldly possession. A believer who pants only after God, unfailingly commands the blessing. There is no one who truly pants after God and makes him first that is despondent and destitute of daily needs (Matthew 6:33). Zephaniah 3:17- God’s visitation is an answer to any and every form of stagnation and difficulty. His visitation into your situation suspends natural laws and causes supernatural laws to take over. The bible is replete with men who did not have the Holy Spirit living in them permanently at that time, yet caused upsets to natural laws. Joshua extended daylight for the battle; Elijah and Elisha parted Jordan, Moses parted the Red Sea and a host of others. In our day, we should experience more because the Holy Spirit is permanently resident in us 1 Corinthian 3:16; 6:19; 2 Corinthians 6:16,17. Halleluyah. We can walk in the same reality as of old and even more today. A single encounter with God is more than a lifetime of struggles.

Prayers 1. Every power limiting my progress, be paralyzed and disgraced Now in Jesus’ name!

2. Every satanic force suspending my rising be suspended Now in the name of Jesus!
